Top teams Update

These are the teams currently moving forward enthusiastically.

TEAMS WHO HAVE CAUGHT THE VISION –  good practice :

1. ‘French for Africa’ team from the Democratic Republic of the Congo; from Lubumbashi led by AIC Bishop Evariste Numbi and Senior Translator Pastor Elie Kakudji. We already have all 4 gospels in good condition and 100 veryeasy gospel stories. 3 more NT books are arriving soon at ‘easy’ level B. ‘Easy’ level A will start soon too!

2. Chichewa from Malawi with a very strong team led by Steven Kaombe and Mark Kayenda. We have some veryeasy gospel stories and these 2 men with others will soon have all 4 gospels in good condition.

3. Yao from Mozambique led by Steven Kaombe. After helping others with their projects, Steven wishes to finish Mark before Kabwe.

4. Swahili and Lingala are starting in DRC – supervised by Pastor Elie Kakudji

5. Experienced translators including Dr Felix Chibesa (Bemba for Zambia), Cleto Mhuru (Shona for Zimbabwe) are bringing new work to Kabwe. Cleto has set up his own website for easyShona (https://sites.google.com/site/easyshonabibles/easyShonaBibles ).

6. Chinese from Shanghai and Zhoukou, Henan Province. Despite obvious problems, my friends in Henan Province and Shanghai are moving forward at ‘easy’ level A in Luke and at ‘veryeasy’ level through John.

7. Urdu from Pakistan. Led by people of high education and ability and can check against the Greek and Hebrew. Punjabi will follow later. Most of the texts will be designed to help Muslims.

8. Sesotho from Lesotho. Despite recent illness concerns Lucia is pushing this project forward.

9. Spanish from Mexico. This is led by a very competent Anglican Franciscan priest from Mexico. The first Gospel stories at ‘veryeasy’ level arrived in September. This brother need much prayer at present following a family bereavement.

10. Amharic from Ethiopia. Revd Abraham Getachew is moving on to add a third gospel at easy level.
